Rick is a native of Nashville, born in 1956. He graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1978 and received his law degree from University of Tennessee in 1981. Rick served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Tennessee until 1985. Before forming Colbert & Wilbert, Rick served as managing partner of the Nashville firm of Cornelius & Collins, LLP. Rick focuses his practice in the field of Labor and Employment Law. Rick’s experience includes a superior record of trial and appellate practice. In addition to regularly appearing in Tennessee appellate courts, Rick has experience in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Rick recently argued a First Amendment case before the United States Supreme Court as lead counsel for The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association. He is a member of the labor and Employment Law Section of the American, Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations, as well as the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Courtney L Wilbert was born in Galveston, Texas in 1978. She grew up in Franklin, Tennessee where she attended Battle Ground Academy. She graduated magna cum laude in 2000 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a minor in business. She received her law degree from the University of Tennessee in 2003, graduating cum laude. While at UT, she was a member of the Law Review and the Speaker's Series. Courtney is admitted to practice in Tennessee. She focuses her practice in civil litigation and employment law and is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations. She is admitted to practice in Federal Court for the Middle and Western Districts of Tennessee as well as in Tennessee state courts.
